New program provides Maine battery owners a path to earn incentives for supporting grid reliability via WeaveGrid’s DISCO platform

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — [DATE], 2026 — WeaveGrid, a grid-edge orchestration software provider for electric utilities, has joined Efficiency Maine's Small Battery Program, a statewide initiative that pays aggregators to dispatch residential and small business battery capacity to the grid during periods of peak demand. Through this participation as a Program Partner, WeaveGrid's Distribution-Integrated System Capacity Orchestration (DISCO) platform coordinates enrolled batteries across Maine, giving battery owners a new way to earn incentives for helping to keep the grid reliable.

Supporting Maine's Grid Through Distributed Battery Capacity

Efficiency Maine created its Small Battery Program to reduce strain on the New England grid during periods of peak demand, while helping Maine households and small businesses get more value from batteries they already own. Program Partners like WeaveGrid orchestrate battery charging and dispatch, and pass incentives on to enrolled customers. Customers keep control throughout and can opt out of individual events at any time.

Extending DISCO to New Device Classes

WeaveGrid's participation in Efficiency Maine’s Small Battery Program illustrates the ongoing expansion of DISCO to support batteries and other distributed energy resources (DERs). DISCO was designed from the outset as a multi-device orchestration platform, with the architecture in place to extend to smart thermostats, residential batteries, and commercial and industrial loads alongside EVs. Through the Small Battery Program, WeaveGrid and battery partners, such as Enphase, are unlocking new grid value and incentive opportunities for battery owners in Maine.

Straightforward Participation for Battery Owners

Maine residential or small business electric customers can participate with an eligible battery that is properly interconnected to the grid. Participating customers receive annual incentives, as well as a $100 sign-up incentive for enrolling before 12/31/2026 and an extra $100 if they are one of the first 50 customers to enroll.
