Electric vehicle (EV) sales are growing at over 60% a year, with vehicle manufacturers spending billions to get ready for an electric future. Boston Consulting Group estimates EVs will account for over half of all vehicle sales by 2030. Electric utilities see massive opportunities in this transformation, as the rise of EVs could drive more growth in energy demand over the next 10 years than any decade since the 1950s.
Larger EV fleets can also help support renewable energy sources on the grid. But to accommodate growth in EVs, utilities will need to make substantial investments in infrastructure and technology. Weave Grid's software helps meet the challenge of our transition to electrified transport.
We’re growing our utility customer base rapidly. To deliver value for clients and help accelerate progress on transportation electrification and grid decarbonization, we need to enroll, delight, retain and shape the behavior of EV drivers in our utility clients’ programs.
The person stepping into this role will own the product analytics suite that empowers the company to build large ‘fleets’ of drivers, charging their EVs in ways that support successful vehicle-grid integration.
We’re a small team and your contributions will be foundational to company success. You’ll also have the chance to learn from behavioral data on the frontiers of market development and grow professionally with the company’s trajectory.
Building the driver engagement engine requires skill in gathering and interpreting data, particularly on EV driver behavior. This is all new territory, so you’ll be organizing yourself and (mostly) be building processes from scratch.
You’ll need to identify and prioritize your highest impact tasks and be able to make prudent decisions under ambiguous requirements. You should be able to reference previous experience owning and managing complex, demanding projects in the past, particularly in unstructured work environments. You’ll also need to empower and guide colleagues while solving important challenges for external stakeholders. For this, you’ll need interpersonal empathy and the ability to communicate clearly and concisely - verbally and in writing.
You should have comfort crafting readable emails, memos and requirements documents, tailored to your intended audience. If you can draft persuasive, engaging presentations in a common format (ppt, keynote, slides, etc), that is very helpful too.
Most of all, you should share the team’s commitment to achieving outcomes that reduce climate risk and support the shift to electrified transport, as well as our commitment to helping each other along this shared startup journey.
