Weave Grid builds software to make it cheaper and safer for utilities to serve electric vehicles, add renewable energy resources, and save customers money. Our mission is to drive rapid decarbonization in the global transport and power sectors by intelligently connecting electric vehicles to the grid.

We are currently in market with early utility clients, and we must rapidly build and deliver product improvements to serve existing customers and win new deals from our deep pipeline. As a rapidly growing company, we are building a thoughtful, capable team that can adapt with our rapidly evolving circumstances.

Industry context

We are living through historic changes in the ways people use transportation — a sector that is now one of the largest and fastest-growing sources of greenhouse gas emissions.

Electric vehicle (EV) sales are growing at over 60% a year, with vehicle manufacturers spending billions to get ready for an electric future. Boston Consulting Group estimates EVs will account for over half of all vehicle sales by 2030. Electric utilities see massive opportunities in this transformation, as the rise of EVs could drive more growth in energy demand over the next 10 years than any decade since the 1950s.  

‍Larger EV fleets can also help support renewable energy sources on the grid. But to accommodate growth in EVs, utilities will need to make substantial investments in infrastructure and technology. Weave Grid's software helps meet the challenge of our transition to electrified transport.

Job description

The WeaveGrid team is growing rapidly, and we are in urgent need of a capable, flexible, and diligent individual to take on several areas of operational responsibility. In particular, we need a compassionate and organized individual that can both scale up our PeopleOps capabilities on strategic and tactical dimensions, as well as serve as an administrative partner to our CEO and CTO.

This role will have significant immediate responsibility and impact, and will open several pathways for career trajectories as the company continues to grow.

This role will have a significant impact on the reputation and growth trajectory of the company. As we more than double our headcount this year, we must implement tools and processes that enable rapid onboarding, close collaboration, and intentional culture development while navigating a hybrid remote and in-office setting. 

By its nature in a rapidly growing company, this role may be a stepping stone to several more specialized career paths including specific functions of PeopleOps, internal administration and operations, and other strategic roles as they become necessary with increasing scale.

This role will
Organize, standardize, and scale up our recruiting efforts, including maximizing outreach to diverse talent pools
Provide administrative support to our CEO and CTO, beginning most immediately with scheduling and expense reporting, but potentially expanding to other elements of external relationship management and internal process
Support internal events like quarterly kickoffs, providing a balance between driving results and curating culture
Work with hiring managers to standardize company-level and functional onboarding processes
Provide a delightful experience to candidates and interviewees as they engage with WeaveGrid
Ensure compliance with relevant employment law
Establish tools and processes for hiring managers to navigate the recruiting and hiring process
Implement security and privacy protocols for PeopleOps in accordance with law, best practice, and needs of the regulated industries we serve

About You

You are a detail-oriented person who approaches challenges systematically. You are comfortable with, and even prefer, having multiple balls in the air at the same time. While you see each project through to completion, you are also flexible enough to prioritize on the fly. Matching your diligence is your compassion: you design hypereffective processes, but with the objective to elevate our employees and foster a culture of collaboration and inclusion.

You have several years of experience in small-company operations, and you are ready for a position with broad and evolving responsibilities. You will bring your own perspective on what good PeopleOps looks like, and will socialize that perspective with our senior leaders.

You live in the San Francisco Bay Area and you are eager, when the time comes, to work in an in-person office environment again. You enjoy working with a variety of people, and you can adapt to a range of working styles and communication preferences in others – including with team members who are working remotely on a continuing basis.

Experience with a range of the latest tools and apps from recruiting to business productivity (e.g., Greenhouse, Lever, Airtable, Google Docs suite)

Compensation and Location

We are looking to fill this position as soon as possible. Compensation will include competitive salary, equity, and benefits. Weave Grid is based in San Francisco but is open to considering remote candidates in the US for some roles.
